Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using VinylCrate (“the App”), operated by Insoc (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using VinylCrate, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

VinylCrate is a mobile application for iOS and macOS that helps users manage their vinyl record collections. The App provides:

  • Collection cataloging and organization
  • Barcode scanning for adding records
  • Integration with the Discogs database and marketplace
  • Collection insights and analytics
  • Apple Music integration for digital playback

User Accounts

Local Data

VinylCrate stores your collection data locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data.

Discogs Integration

To use Discogs features, you must have a valid Discogs account and agree to Discogs’ Terms of Service. When connecting your Discogs account:

  • You authorize VinylCrate to access your Discogs data
  • You remain bound by Discogs’ terms and policies
  • You can revoke access at any time through your Discogs account settings

Apple Music

Apple Music features require an active Apple Music subscription. Use of Apple Music is subject to Apple’s Terms and Conditions.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use VinylCrate only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the App to violate any laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or third-party services
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to infringe on others’ intellectual property rights

Third-Party Services

VinylCrate integrates with third-party services including:

  • Discogs: For music database information and marketplace features
  • Apple Music: For digital playback functionality

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of these third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

Intellectual Property

Our Content

VinylCrate and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Insoc and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your Content

You retain ownership of your collection data. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely for providing the App’s functionality.

Third-Party Content

Album artwork, track listings, and other music metadata are provided by Discogs and are subject to Discogs’ licensing terms.

Disclaimers

“As Is” Basis

VinylCrate is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy of information

Marketplace Information

Collection values and marketplace prices are estimates based on Discogs data. We do not guarantee the accuracy of pricing information or the actual value of your collection.

Data Accuracy

Album information is sourced from Discogs’ community-driven database. We do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of this information.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Insoc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including:

  • Loss of data
  • Loss of profits
  • Business interruption
  • Personal injury

arising out of your use or inability to use VinylCrate.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Insoc and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms in the App
  • Updating the “Last Updated” date
  • Providing notice through the App or website

Your continued use of VinylCrate after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to VinylCrate at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Is harmful to other users or third parties
  • Is harmful to our business interests

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
